Is there Life in the WasteLand...
If there is still life out in the vast world of Livejournal, mainly this LivePlanet part of it, LISTEN UP.
All the fans of Project GreenLight, yep remember that reality show that rides the fence between maybe coming back and vanishing into the unknown. Well its time for us to get cracking once again, nope not for a new season. Its time for the release of the 3rd season movie(About damn time) into the theater world or warzone, which ever you perfer.

Yep FEAST will be seeing the light of day or darkness of night, depending on where you live. It will only have a limited release in the theaters so we need to try and do what we can to get the word out.
So now to hopefully to give this community a little breath back in its lungs. I would like to open this page up with any ideas or info that could help. I will also be back and fourth hitting everyone with new info as I can get my hands on it.
For now, here is the trailer that I grabbed from the world of YOUTUBE..

....then all too soon on Dvd Oct.17th

Affleck & Neo Art Invent Time Travel
Source: Variety
March 23, 2005

In a deal that grew out of Project Greenlight, Ben Affleck and Neo Art & Logic partners Joel Soisson and Mike Leahy have optioned Rick Carr's script Does Anybody Here Remember When Hanz Gubenstein Invented Time Travel?, reports Variety.

The sci-fi comedy was one of three final scripts under consideration to be produced for the third season of "Greenlight," which airs on Bravo.

Instead, the series is following the production of horror film Feast, written by Marcus Dunston and Patrick Melton, which Dimension Films will release this fall. Soisson and Leahy are producing the movie, along with Affleck and Matt Damon.

The other losing finalist, Wildcard by Marshal Moseley, was optioned by Wes Craven through his Craven/Maddalena Films production company.

episode 2
was so frustrated with john gulager last night. speak up lest you get fired =/ he is so talented yet so inarticulate and couldn't explain his vision. they showed more clips of his shorts and i was again, blown away yet if he doesn't show leadership soon he might get booted off the show.

does anyone else read the blogs? wes craven bought "wild card," one of the project greenlight screenplay finalists. which is great because then the movie would be made by one of the finest directors and would probably have more budget.

i so wanted them so make "hanz gubenstein" instead... i'm sure it's funny. ben affleck loved it, maybe he should pitch it to kevin smith =P

what's up with john wanting four of his family members to be in the movie? i know he's the director but dimension films has a huge stake in the movie (i mean cmon dimension chose "feast"). everyone's getting frustrated with him.

if he stays as the director though i hope at least his dad gets to be in the cast since he was an old actor.

i thought it was funny when gulager said that he's been living with his gf for 20 years, seeing if they're compatible. haha. =P i love this show.

we should all watch "feast" to support PGL and hopefully have PGL 4.

With those words, we start a new season of Project Greenlight and with a new home on BRAVO.We all must know the settle difference now, less swearing and more BEEPS. Now we jump back into the warzone of the movie making world, this time the guys at Greenlight want a success and ,in some eyes, they need one.
"if the movie doesn't make money this year, I really don't see anyone giving Project Greenlight any money to make a movie ever again."

Those are the word of Chris Moore and looking at the past most of us have to agree.
Project1-Stolen Summer $119,841
Project2-The Battle of Shaker Heights $279,282
That is a total of $399,123 give or take a few in Box Office numbers

They need some bang this time around

Well enough with the past, lets get right to it

The job interview of your dreams or nightmares

Its all how you look at it

We have the usual suspects back; Chris Moore, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and the usual studio brass(this time Dimension). But this time, there is someone new to the mix. The master of horror Wes Craven.
I can go on and on now about the ep. but I think I will just hit some points.
-Was it me or was it crap that the studio was the only factor in the movie choice. Damon made a good point if Wes Craven thinks the horror movie script is bad, then you might not want to touch it with a ten foot pole.
-Pointless thing to throw in, to anyone that still reads this section. Thanks for still reading and can't wait to hear what you have to say this season.
-the funniest damn comment from the top 3 directors, the Kerri Strug/SFX monster example.

Anyways, the winners have been named. But I think the bubble for these guys are goign to burst soon.
John Gulager from his bio tape and PGL sample script tape alone, he is an awesome talent. But after the pitch with the panel, I think its not going to be the best pre production.
Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan they seem to have a great script(with a few flaws) and if Feast is done the right way it could bring the success that Moore was talking about earlier.
Together and with the right help, these guys could make the best horror movie in awhile.
There is though, from what the previews show, a chance one might not make it to the films final cut.

We have the best show on TV back and we'll see what happens in the next few weeks. What does everyone else think? What do you think about the runner's up? Anyone working on anything for the hopefully Greenlight 4?

The Winners Are....
The winners for Project Greenlight 3 have been revealed.
The director for this season will be John Gulager.
The writing winners are the team of Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunston, the title to their script is "Feast"

What it sounds like, this movie will not be the after-school specials we have seen in the past two seasons of PGL. Not knocking on those movies.

Season 2 DVD
Hey all. I just joined up, and in case anyone's still watching this community - the second season DVD is apparently out there already, though it's not officially released for eight days. I ended up at a mall yesterday for a little while (which is unusual in itself) and came across a copy while browsing a random store. Someone will probably get in trouble for selling it to me, but whatever, I did purchase it. Special features seem to be pretty good so far; there were a fair amount of deleted scenes from the TV series that were entertaining. Haven't watched anything on the movie disc yet except the gag reel, but the deleted scenes and the movie itself both seem to be attached to commentary from the directors and there are a few other features.

Anyway, just thought I'd let everyone know that it doesn't hurt to start checking if you happen to be at a store that sells DVDs. I almost browsed right past the set myself because I wasn't looking for it.

Psst. If AnyOn Cares...
Project GreenLight's Third Season is coming soon and it will be on Bravo instead of HBO. Which is good for anyone that only has Bravo and doesn't have HBO.

So with that said, whoever wants to join up with the journal. Please do so so I don't feel like I am talking to a wall.
